Welcome to Ecolodge Rocky Valley!
Rocky Valley is built on a small mountain with view on one of the most beautiful diving area's between Hurghada and Marsa Alam - Abu Sawatir - our own house reef.
We provide eco lodges, full board and accompanied diving on both our house reef and beautiful reefs nearby.
Our Lodges are built out of nice stone in terracotta colour, palm wood and roof covering of palmwood and leaves. All lodges and tents have sea view. We have several sanitary buildings with toilets and showers.
Rocky Valley lies between Hurghada and Marsa Alam, about 10 kilometers North from El Quseir. Between the villages of
El Quseir (10km South) and Hamrawein (7km North) are no buildings. Our staff is able to pick you up from the airport of Hurghada or Marsa Alam. When you book the Hottest Deal or the 4 Day Adventure, transfers are included. Both transfers take approximately 1,5 to 2 hours. Between Hurghada and El Quseir there is a scheduled bus service by the Upper Egypt Bus company.

About 7 kilometer from the camp there is an old mine, still in operation. 14 kilometer South from the camp you can find Alabaster, phosphate and an old Bedouin village, also known as Ghost City. We can provide guided tours. Horses and camel excursions are available on request for a nice tour along the coast or into the desert. Nearby is the city of El Quseir, either guided or on your own. For excursions to Luxor, Aswan or Cairo please contact our travel agent or inform at the camp.
Our housereef is called Abu Sawatir, an easy going dive either North or South, a sandy bottom, from 1 meter to a depth of 40+ meters. From the beach you can easily walk into the sea. The bay is a dive spot for all levels, a perfect place for student courses on every level. On both sides of the reef there are fantastic coral reefs with many nice fish.
The surrounding reefs offer many opportunities for great dives! There are over 25 reefs where we will bring you by minibus, pickup truck or jeep. Most reefs have easy entries and exits (some of the have ropes to hold on to). Because there are hardly boats anchoring you will find unspoiled and coloured healthy reefs.
Famous reefs in the area: Elphinstone (on apllication), Brother Islands (on apllication), Abu Dabab (to see sea cows), Dolphin House - Samadai (on application), Beith Goha (cave labyrinth and Maklouf (beautiful canyon to the outside reef).
Organized groups such as diving schools, clubs companies as well as individuals are more then welcome to enjoy a unforgetable (diving) holiday. You can also book the entire camp for your group for ultimate privacy. We have room for 28 persons ( 22 in our lodges and 6 in our bedouin tents)
